Think of this as your body’s introduction to the work we’ll do together. We’ll start by reviewing your intake form and exploring how your body responds to some basic breathwork. From there, we’ll create a starting point tailored to what your body needs—not just what your mind might think it’s ready for.
This session is all about honoring where you are right now, without pushing you off a proverbial cliff (because let’s face it, that’s not helpful for anyone). You’ll leave with clarity, a sense of connection, and a plan that feels doable and aligned with your healing journey.
Integrative Body Therapy is exactly that—integrative. While Somatic Therapy focuses on the mind-body connection and the idea that “the body keeps the score,” Integrative Body Therapy takes it a step further by combining this approach with a broader range of tools.
As a therapist, I’m licensed to physically work on the body through massage and trained in techniques like movement therapy and the use of flower essences. This means I’m not limited to one or two methods—I have an entire toolbox to draw from, tailoring each session to what your body and mind truly need.
It’s all about meeting you where you are and supporting you with the techniques that will best serve your unique journey.
No two sessions are the same—because no two days, bodies, or life experiences are the same. Whatever you walk in with, we’ll work on.
So, what does that actually mean? It means your body might be holding onto tension from the past month—or the past decade. Depending on what your body presents, we might start with movement, breathing, bodywork, emotional release, or a combination of all the above. It’s a deeply intuitive process, guided by one simple principle: your body leads, and we listen.
Most of us have spent years (yes, years!) ignoring our bodies. But when you give yours the space to be seen and cared for—trust me—it will start talking. And I’m here to help you listen to it.
When you step into this work, you’re making a commitment—to yourself and to your body. The goal isn’t to push you off a cliff but to help you move forward in life with intention, uncovering who you were meant to be while integrating the insights gained in each session.
For most people, I recommend scheduling once a month. This gives your nervous system time to calm, your body time to integrate, and you space for reflection. Typically, one session every 3–4 weeks is the sweet spot.
If you need extra support between appointments, that’s absolutely possible. But unless we’re addressing a specific therapeutic issue, I rarely recommend more than one session a month. This work is about sustainable progress, not overloading your system.
I get it—massage is a powerful tool, and I’m grateful for my training in it. But in my practice, massage is just one piece of a much bigger picture. I firmly believe that your body has the innate ability to heal itself. Sometimes, it just needs a little support along the way. And while I can guide and assist, only you—and your body—can do the deep work of healing.
If you’re dealing with a specific issue that hasn’t been resolved by other practitioners, I’d be happy to offer a free 15-minute consult to see if my massage skills can help, or if I can point you toward other resources in the community.
That said, my approach goes beyond massage. Each session is tailored to uncover and address the root cause of your pain or discomfort—not just the physical symptoms, but the mental and emotional layers your body might be holding. Massage may be part of our work, but it’s never the whole story.
First off, let’s tackle that belief head-on. The idea that someone else’s problems are “worse” than yours is part of why this work is so transformative. We live in a society that loves to rank struggles like it’s some kind of competition. Spoiler alert: it’s not. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, anxious, depressed, or like a hamster on a wheel going nowhere—this work is for you.
Here’s why: beneath all those feelings is a story—a story that’s been running your life on autopilot. That story exists to keep you safe, but in the process, it’s also keeping you anxious, busy, and disconnected from yourself.
And let’s be real, minimizing your problems (“it’s not that bad, others have it worse”) is a survival strategy. It protects you from facing the original hurt, but it also keeps you from healing it. So the real question isn’t whether your problems are “bad enough.” The question is: are you ready to start showing up for yourself?
Many people believe the session itself is the most critical part of healing or personal growth—but honestly? It’s just the beginning. The session is a catalyst, helping you uncover the stories and patterns driving your thoughts and behaviors.
The real transformation happens during integration. This is the phase where you:
Through integration, you start to release the survival-mode stories and outdated patterns that have been holding you back. This is where true healing takes root, allowing you to step into the version of yourself you’re ready to become.
